Introduction
From dances like the Charleston, to the Moonwalk, all the way up to todays generation filled with dances such as the Sexy Walk & Shmoney Dance…. to say dance has “improved” would be an utter opinion. Although aspects like, style, speed, and rhythm have majorly changed over time, there’s no set scale to judge the quality of a dance. For my first project I choose to mix dance & Disney. I selected a mashup of Disney songs then began to research all of the 30+ songs included in the audio & find basic information such as the movie it’s featured in & the release date of the film. After getting that information, I had to do tons of research on that time period & find the most I could about the dances that were born and popular around when that particular movie was released.
Overview & Process
My project is all about how the art of dance has changed and evolved over time. From the 30s all the way up to today. It consisted of lots of research and persistence when learn about the dances and also how to do them.
For the art part of my project I incorporated my gained knowledge and choreographed a dance which I then filmed

The history part is mostly self-explanatory. I looked into the past and learned different dances such as the Madison and Bunny Hop. After gathering my information my next step from there was turning my research into a study of how history effected the evolution of dance. My focus was on the 40s, 80s, and 2000s. Couples danced together in the 40s before the male would go off to fight in WWII. The 80s were the Jacksons prime and Micheal and Janet shaped the evolution by introducing moves like the running man and moonwalk. The 2000s changed a lot compared to the early thirties were more singular and concise moves were done such as the Dougie and Stanky Leg.

For English, my history research turned into a five- paragraph essay. Although I had to include more elaborate details and connections.
